National Careers Week

This week is National Careers Week. The week is aimed at promoting careers education within schools and colleges mainly. But I thought it would be a good chance for our Careers and Employability Team to promote our Careers and Employability service.

Here is a list of the different ways in which you can access Careers and Employability support at Hope:

Employability Hub (open term time): 

Mondays:

10:30am to 12.30pm:  Careers Express – our drop in service were you can drop in and have a quick chat with one of our Careers Advisers about anything relevant to your current or future employment or career goals.

Tuesdays: 

10:30am to 12.30pm:  Careers Express – our drop in service were you can drop in and have a quick chat with one of our Careers Advisers about anything relevant to your current or future employment or career goals.

2pm to 4pm: Work Experience Drop-in – Come and speak to one of our Employability Team about current and upcoming work experience opportunities.

Wednesdays: 

10:30am to 12.30pm: Work Experience Drop-in – Come and speak to one of our Employability Team about current and upcoming work experience opportunities.

2pm to 4pm:  Hope Works Drop-in – A member of our Hope Works team will be providing information on anything to do with working on campus. If you are interested in applying for a job on campus, you need to complete the Hope Works registration form on My Hope, then bring in the relevant ID documentation to this drop in service. Then you can search for an apply for jobs on campus.

Thursdays:

Fridays: 

10:30am to 12.30pm:  Hope Works Drop-in – A member of our Hope Works team will be providing information on anything to do with working on campus. At any other time our Employability Hub will be hosting a number of SALA training events, employer talks or you can make use of the equipment for your own career enhancement activities.

One to One Career Appointments: 

Our Careers Advisers will help you with any careers related questions you may have at any stage of your career planning, from helping you explore options to preparing for an interview. Please make use of this service to kick start your career.

To book a one to one careers appointment (lasting up to 45 mins) you can ask at the Gateway reception desk, ask a member of staff in the Employability Hub or email careers@hope.ac.uk.

Creative Campus:

We also offer Careers Express at our Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus and students based at this campus can book a one to one to take place at Creative too. For more details contact Chris Biggs biggsc@hope.ac.uk

For employers looking to recruit students from courses based at the Creative Campus we also host employer events at Creative too. Keep an eye on your bulletins and Facebook to make sure you don’t miss any.

Course subject work:

Our Careers Advisers and Employability Team work all year round to deliver career education sessions within your subjects and to bring in relevant professionals to provide insights into their field and employers to advertise their opportunities.
